In a town known for its rich history, it’s only fitting that our island home offers a wide range of ghostly celebrations. We appreciate all things Halloween here in Fernandina Beach, and the area offers a wide range of spooky events for all ages.
Diane Blanton, a history buff, says that cooler weather can “stir the spirits up.” What better time than October to take a ghost tour with her as your guide? The tour, from Amelia Island Ghost Tours, takes a little over two hours and covers half a mile of historic downtown. Grab your camera to play paparazzi to paranormal activity. Each Friday, a ghost tour from Amelia Island Museum of History departs from the cemetery behind St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 6pm. The tour lasts one hour and covers about 14 blocks of the historic district. Reviews of this tour are glowing, many guests have enjoyed it. Purchase tickets here.
Do nautical adventures strike your fancy? If so, join the Nassau Humane Society on the Halloween Costume BYOB Cruise on Sunday, October 29th from 2-4pm. Pack your favorite drinks and don a costume to enjoy the music of FLO ‘N GRITS, a soulful funk duo.
