Wedding with Rain and Good Fortune

They say a bit of rain on your wedding day forecasts good fortune for the future.  If true, Jennifer and Micheal are indeed looking at good luck, as it began to rain just about the moment for the wedding to begin this weekend.  We still had the ceremony on the front porch with family gathered around and then moved inside for the reception.  It was warm and very humid, but hey, it’s Florida in late spring!  Byron conducted the ceremony; the bride was beautiful, and of course..the groom handsome.  Everyone enjoyed the sound of a little rain as background music to their recited vows.

The cake was pure white with the family initial on top and a purple ribbon streamer around the sides.  Shrimp, chicken salad puffs, and fruit were enjoyed by all.  Even though the reception was held indoors, Cinnamon could tell shrimp was on the menu somewhere and came begging at the back porch.  Yes, he got a couple of extra shrimp, and strangely he has acquired a taste for just a little cake icing for desert.  Doesn’t want the cake please, just the icing.  I personally try to check all cakes (quality control purposes you know) and found this one to be very tasty, as usual!   It can of course rain or shine on Williams House weddings.  Try as we might, we haven’t yet learned to control the weather.  But regardless,  it always creates a special day and memories in the lives of the couples and their friends and family.  We feel priveleged and excited to be part of such a special day for everyone and enjoy sharing the beauty and history of this special place at such an important time in their lives.
