A Spectacular Day for a Wedding

I’ve lived in Florida for nearly four years and this weekend was one of those rare times when weather folks described the forecast as a “spectacular day”.  Always a good omen when we are planing a wedding!  Kathy, the bride’s mother, was married at the Williams House last October and this weekend her daughter Sally and fiance Michael were married here. It was indeed spectacular weather with highs near 90 and bright sunny skies.  By 5:30 pm when the wedding began it was warm but tolerable and not even a chance for rain.  Both Sally and Michael are Naval Academy grads and so were many of their wedding party friends.  I love the look of the white uniforms and of course they match the Bride’s white dress.  The ceremony went well and was added to by Cinnamon strolling up the sidewalk near the end to make sure he didn’t miss the upcoming reception.

It was a little warm in the back courtyard but a small breeze now and then kept it reasonable.  The wedding cake and flowers had a sunflower theme and added a nice bit of color to the event.

Guests enjoyed rosemary biscuits with ham and melted cheese, chicken salad puffs, fruit platter and crab cakes;  followed by slices of this beautiful strawberry filled wedding cake.
