The Thanksgiving of your dreams, treat yourself, you deserve it!

Saturday, October 20th, 2012

You’ve spent your time making everyone happy at Thanksgiving – this year let us treat you on the holiday!

Wake up to a 2 course gourmet breakfast and then spend the day strolling the sights of historical fernandina, the serene sandy beaches or relaxing on the gingerbread laden porches with a good book and conversation.

Saunter back to the parlor decorated for the Christmas season to partake of afternoon tea with sweets and savories such as cucumber dill finger sanwiches, honey pecan chicken salad in flaky pastry cups, bacon and tomato on crostini not to mention the decadent dessert offering of pecan tassies, strawberries stuffed with creme fraiche and assorted homemade cookies. Carriage tours of the town will be offered to guests wishing as well to get a old fashioned view of the beautiful historic homes in Fernandina and imagine days gone by.
Time to rest up and ready yourself for the wine hour followed by Thanksgiving meal with your dinner certificate at a local restaurant!
The next morning you can regale in the festivities of the downtown shopping district which is having a Black Friday Pajama Party with discounts and specials galore. Wear your PJ”s in public-WHAT FUN!

Beach Combing on Amelia Island

Thursday, October 18th, 2012
Visit the beautiful beaches of Amelia Island this fall and you will feel that you are on your own private beach. The hustle and bustle of vacationers on school break, sun worshippers and surfers are far and few between as the temperatures become more mild.
It is a wonderful time to stroll the sands and watch the shrimp boats and dolphins bobbing in the sea as you collect seashells.
Our beaches are also famous for fossilized shark teeth!  You might be lucky enough to nab a megaladon which is a tooth of the biggest prehistoric shark / marine creature in the history of the planet that ever lived even outweighing the modern great white shark!
Happy Hunting!
